Undergrad Light-Like Separation: Is It Possible?
Is it possible for all the events in a field to be light-like separated from each other? What would such a field be like?- novice_hack

Graduate Relationship between energy density and cosmological constant
Ok. Call it mass density. I am asking whether there is some reason that there would be a relationship between the two. Maybe the answer is 'no'. It just seems curious to me that the one value is 16 times the other value. It seems like the kind of thing for which there might be some theoretical...- novice_hack

Graduate Relationship between energy density and cosmological constant
According to the wiki entry on Planck units, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck_units, the energy density of the universe, 1.8 × 10−123, is 1/16th the cosmological constant, 2.9 × 10−122. Is there a theoretical reason for this precise relationship?- novice_hack

Graduate Volume of 3-Torus: Formula and Calculations
Thanks for your answer. I was looking for something like the general formula for the volume of an n-ball, which is given here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-sphere I am not sure whether there would be an analogous formula for the n-torus?- novice_hack

Graduate Volume of 3-Torus: Formula and Calculations
I have recently read that physicists are exploring the possibility that the universe is a 3-torus. I have been trying to find the formula for the volume of a three-torus online but cannot find it. Can anyone tell me the formula?- novice_hack

Undergrad How Is Proper Acceleration Expressed in General Relativity?
I know that in Special Relativity, proper acceleration is understood as: a*ga^3, where ga is the lorentz term and 'a' is coordinate acceleration. Is there a corresponding expression for proper acceleration within the various geodesics that result from solutions to Einstein's Field Equations? If...- novice_hack

Graduate Einstein's Field Equations: Effective Potential Functions
I have seen written out in various places (including this forum) the effective potential function that comes from the solutions to the Schwarszschild Geodesic. But I haven't been able to find the effective potential functions for other solutions to Einstein's field equations. Are there...- novice_hack

Graduate Light like interval in wave function
I have read the following from what seems a reliable source: The identification of the spacetime interval with quantum phase applies to null intervals as well, consistent with the fact that the quantum phase of a photon does not advance at all between its emission and absorption. Hence the...- novice_hack
