Undergrad Equation of Motion: Understand Last Sentence
hmm...but i think the book should be more or less accurate...i quote this from the book "Mechanics" by L.D.Landau...i do have the same opinion as yours when i am reading this...But considering Born2bwire's i think the statement is alright, since the Lagrangian is T-U, in which the potential...- rasensuriken

Undergrad Equation of Motion: Understand Last Sentence
I came across this from a book saying that: If all the co-ordinates and velocities are simultaneously specified, it is known from experience that the state of the system is completely determined and that its subsequent motion can, in principle, be calculated. Mathematically, this means that, if...- rasensuriken

High School What Happens to Forces When You Kick a Ball?
Well i known this is a kinda fundamental property of mechanics but i always have a weird thinking about this law. Let me illustrate my trouble with an example. Let's say i kick a ball with force F? According to the Law the ball experience F force, and my leg experiences -F. My questions...- rasensuriken

Solve Angular Speed of Rotating Rod: Conservation of Energy
The question is as the attachment... May i know if i want to find the angular speed of the rod when it inclined at certain angle, or at horizontal, can i use the \varpi^2=\varpi_0^2+2\alpha\vartheta? Attempt: I used it, and used conservation of energy, the latter produces right answer, but i...- rasensuriken
