Factoring 28s^2 + 8st - 20t^2: A Simplified Explanation and Solution
Homework Statement 28s^2 + 8st - 20t^2 The answer in the back of the book is 4(7s - 5t)(s + t) 2. The attempt at a solution 4(7s^2 + st + st - 5t^2) 4(7s^2 + st + st - 20t^2) 4(s(7s + t) + t(s - 20t)) I'm lost, can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.- Rowah

Solve Word Problem: 2006 Taxes Based on 33% Bracket
In my experience there are errata in textbooks, especially math ones. The people that compose the answers do so hurriedly and there is room for error. It could be possible that the answer is simply part of the growing errata that exists in our academic world.- Rowah

Solve Quadratic Function with Factor Theorem
Hmm, when you sub f(4) = 50 in f(x)=(2x-3)(x-2) You end up with 50=10 Am I on the right track towards implementing that "5" into my final equation?- Rowah

Solve Quadratic Function with Factor Theorem
This is the problem: A quadratic function f(x) with integral coefficients has the following properties: f(3/2)=0, (x-2) is a factor of f(x), and f(4) = 50. Determine f(x). The answer in the back of the book is f(x)=5(2x-3)(x-2) I can easily understand the (2x-3) and (x-2), but I don't...- Rowah

Help Maximizing Range of Projectile Motion
My teacher gave me a project that requires us to find the angle that "produces the maximum range for a trebuchet with a release speed of 50 m/s." My (Delta)h value is +46 and I have to calculate the range produced by 5 different angles, graph it, and find the best angle to a hundredth of a...- Rowah

Is Pre-Calculus Harder Than Calculus?
Basically, with calculus you learn the Derivative, Limit and Integral in fine detail, with precalculus you learn all sorts of concepts in less detail. Its all about Mass concepts vs. Fewer, more complex concepts.- Rowah
