Linear speed/how many revolutions are made?

Homework Statement a quarter back throws a pass that is a perfect spiral, and the spins at 7.7 rev/s. the linear speed is 19 m/s and at an angle 55. if the ball is caught the same height it is thrown, how many rev. has the ball made while in the air? Homework Equations ω^2 = ωnot^2 + 2(alpha)...

Determine the height to which the center of the baton travels

ok so i used the formula to find angular acceleration then used that answer and put it into this...theta=(wnot)t + 1/2 (alpha)(t^2) i got 6.08 the answer in the book is 6.05m so must just be some rounding errors. thanks!

How far along circular arch is an astronaut

s=theta x r i see now how that works...thanks so much, i didnt think of that at first. thanks

Determine the height to which the center of the baton travels

Homework Statement a baton twirler throws a baton straight up in the air, it goes up and comes straight back down. it completes 4 rev. ignoring air resistance and assuming the angular speed is 1.80 rev/s , determine the height to which the center of the baton travels above the point of...

How far along circular arch is an astronaut

Homework Statement a space station consists of two donut shaped living chambers A and B, that have radii r(A)= 3.2x10^2m and r(B)=1.10x10^3m. As the station rotates, the astronaut in chamber A is moved 2.40x10^2 m along a circular arc. how far along a circular arc is an astronaut in chamber B...

Magnitude of angular acceleration- my first post ever in physics forum

ok after using that number i got -.0064 rad/s^2 which is partially correct by why in the book does it say .0064, where did the neg. go?

Magnitude of angular acceleration- my first post ever in physics forum

i took 281rev/min and multiplied it by 2pi then divided by 60 sec...thanks

Magnitude of angular acceleration- my first post ever in physics forum

Hi, thanks...i re-did the final rev/min and got 29.43 but when i put that back into my formula I am still not getting the answer that's in the book...thanks

Magnitude of angular acceleration- my first post ever in physics forum

Homework Statement CD is playing for 74 min, starts at angular speed of 480 rpm then slows to 210rpm. what's the magnitude of the angular acceleration Homework Equations angular acceleration =ω/ t The Attempt at a Solution i converted the rev to rad then min to sec then divided...
