Undergrad What is the Exact Meaning of F=dp/dt?
F=ma, like the concept of frames, is purely empirical from the beginning. Force and momentum are circularly defined. -
What causes current decay in plasma collisions?
Thank you. So in this "simple picture", are we neglecting current decay due to ion-ion collisions? And I guess electron-ion collisions are too effective to ignore.- TESL@

What causes current decay in plasma collisions?
1. Current is induced, I assume no collisions happened. 2. The current dissipated into "heat". My problem is about the concept of heat.- TESL@

Undergrad Electric Potential Energy Concept
q(Vf - Vi) is correct for the work done by the force opposing the electric force. If the work done by electric field was being considered, it would be q(Vi - Vf).- TESL@

What causes current decay in plasma collisions?
Hello PF, This has been frustrating me for a while: The plasma inside a tokamak is being heated by current induction, which accelerates the ions and electrons in specific directions, thus the velocity of ions increase. These ions collide with each other, eventually randomizing the motion. Now...- TESL@

High School What absorbs Ultraviolet radiation?
Your English is confusing, but are you saying that UV is re-emitted as visible light in the atmosphere?- TESL@

Graduate Induced Electric Field inside Faraday Cage
His first sentence sounds to me like he has understood the question differently, as if the field is generated inside the chamber.- TESL@
