This is just the prototype run - want to get the art right, the typeface, margins, etc., before I actually publish it with an ISBN.

Did the cover artwork too.

Never really thought I'd get here. So chuffed...

Not yet. I will likely publish in electronic form. Probably Kobo and maybe Amazon.

Congratulations!

It’s hard work writing and writing and rewriting a book. I’m went through that for a couple years and needed to shelve the project to get some rest.

Your book reminds me of a 1950s classic called Strangely Enough by CB Colby. I got my copy in third grade via the Scholastic book club. The stories were one and two page ghost stories, lost treasure… urban legends virtually no facts to corroborate any of them.

I must admit to having been so pushy that I actually got a sneak preview. Although where I found the reckless pushy courage to ask for something so personal out of the blue I still have no idea. We have an idiom in Danish which literally translates to "naughty as a butcher dog". I think that is pretty apt.

Anyway, my point is that I can vouch for the fact that we're all in for a treat.

Will I be able to read it on my laptop, or will I need a Kindle or tablet type thing?

Good point. It needs to be formatted as a PDF to publish. You could just read the PDF.

Well done!

I couldn't resist asking ChatGPT what it thought of your title. It was generally positive:

'It echoes the old cartographic phrase “Here be dragons”, which medieval mapmakers supposedly used to mark unknown or dangerous regions. Even though the exact Latin phrase (hic sunt dracones) appears rarely in real maps, the expression has become culturally iconic.'

However, it added:

'A Small Consideration

Because it riffs on “Here Be Dragons,” some readers may feel it’s familiar rather than wholly original'

Not wholly original? What a nerve!!

One could argue that theres nothing under the Sun and yet every living thing is unique.

An aside: If you were born in the year 1952 after the lunar new year and into 1953 before the lunar new year then you be a water dragon like me.
