I would be sad to see @phyti go. Disagreeing - even strongly - should not result in withdrawal from the community. He has lots of contributions, and sparked lively debate. Good for him; good for us.

It was my way of saying stay around. Monty hall messed me up till I got it.
Then Dale introduced entropy and I realised I'm just a spectator again, which is fine.

I don't think there is a way back when one starts to talk about non-existent censorship, and non-existent truth that will survive.

When someone speaks of freedom from censorship as a virtue, I like to think back to Usenet. The lesson learned there was that unmoderated open access discussion groups do not work.

It was fine when it was just the nerds chattering back and forth to each other. Once the barrier to entry became low enough for the common man to participate, everything went to heck.
