TL;DR
I hypothesize that black holes and white holes are the same entity connecting universes with different entropy rates. Extreme supernova conditions tear space, creating a channel to a "thermal death" universe. From our side, it
absorbs light (black hole); from the other side, it spews matter/light (white hole), restarting entropy. As a high school student relying on imagination rather than formulas, I welcome your feedback.
Hello everyone,

I am a high school student with a strong interest in astronomy and physics. While I don't have advanced mathematical training yet, I have been thinking about the relationship between black holes, white holes, and entropy.

My Hypothesis:
I propose that black holes and white holes might be the same entity acting as a bridge between two universes with different entropy rates.

1. The Mechanism:
Extreme conditions, perhaps from a supernova, could tear space-time to create a channel. This channel leads to a universe that is approaching "thermal death" (maximum entropy).

2. The Perspective:
- From our universe's side: The entity absorbs light and matter, appearing as a Black Hole.
- From the other universe's side: The entity spews out matter and light, appearing as a White Hole.

3. The Result:
This process could effectively "restart" entropy for the other universe, injecting order into a dying system.

I understand this is based on imagination rather than rigorous formulas. I am here to learn—could anyone point out existing theories that match this, or explain the physical flaws in this idea? Thank you!

Hello and welcome to PF!

The concept of white holes has a history in the maximally extended Schwarzschild solution and might be of interest: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kruskal–Szekeres_coordinates

However, we currently have no good candidates (afaik) for potential white holes in our universe.

Note that personal speculation is not allowed in this forum. If you'd just like to know about black hole and white hole physics, you can ask just about that.

Regarding "afaik" - ah, I see, "As Far As I Know". That makes sense. It is fascinating that the math allows for them even if we haven't observed one yet.

First, a reminder of the forum rules regarding personal hypotheses and theories: they are not permitted. But since you’ve already brought it up, have you noticed that your question involves "two universes"—in other words, a multiverse?

The idea of the multiverse is not part of the scientific consensus. For that reason alone, the hypothesis is invalid. You should adapt it to the idea of a single universe.

The hypothesis has other problems, of course—specifically regarding the nature of white holes and the reason for their absence from the universe.

Moreover, this sort of idle speculation is probably just a waste of time. Anyone can throw words together. Learning real physics, on the other hand, is hard work!
