Good family comedy is increasingly rare in today's entertainment landscape, with many modern comedians relying on profanity and explicit content rather than the clean humor exemplified by legends like The Three Stooges, Jack Benny, and Bob Hope. These classic comedians mastered the art of comedy without resorting to shock value, appealing to audiences of all ages. There is a sentiment that contemporary comedians prioritize originality over emulating these masters, yet many still miss the mark in delivering wholesome, relatable humor. The discussion highlights a longing for a revival of family-friendly comedy that resonates across generations.

Good Family Comedy is a Rarety today. I miss Comedians like The three Stooges, Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Red Skelton and many others. They were absolute Masters of Comedy. Todays' Comedians just don't get it. They fill their Acts with profanity, Sex, etc. Too bad they didn't learn anything from the Masters.

I completely agree that good, clean comedy seems to be a rarity in today's entertainment industry. It's a shame that many comedians feel the need to rely on shock value and explicit content to get a laugh. The comedians you mentioned, like The Three Stooges, Jack Benny, and Bob Hope, were true masters of their craft and were able to make audiences laugh without resorting to crude humor. They understood the importance of appealing to all ages and keeping their comedy clean and relatable. It's a shame that modern comedians don't seem to have the same level of skill and understanding of what truly makes for great comedy. I too miss the days of wholesome family comedy and hope that we will see a return to it in the future.

To some degree, this thread is inspired by PF user erobz's thread "Why do we spend so much time learning grammar in the public school system?" That's why I made a title to this thread that paralleled the title of erobz's thread. I totally disagree with erobz. I created this thread because the curriculum of grammar at Universities is a totally distinct topic from the topic of the curriculum of grammar in public schools. I have noticed that the English grammar of many ( perhaps most)...
