To back up Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstalling Windows XP, users can utilize the export feature. By navigating to File > Import & Export, they can select "Export to File," choose "Personal Folder File (.pst)," and then specify which parts of Outlook to copy, ensuring to check the "include subfolder" option. After naming the file and completing the export, it can be saved to a CD for later use. Post-reinstallation, users can restore their emails by either opening the .pst file to append it to the existing mailbox or by importing it through the same Import & Export menu. Additionally, it is advised to ensure that all spyware is removed before considering a reinstall, as spyware often causes performance issues on computers.

There should be an archive feature in Outlook. You can export all of your emails to the archive, copy them to a cd then after reinstalling you can open the archive file.

Go to <<File>> <<Import & Export>>
Select Export to File from Dialog
Select Personal Folder File (.pst) from next dialog
Select bits of Outlook you want to Copy in next dialog and click include subfolder checkbox.
Enter File name (.pst) on next dialog
Click <<Finish>>

When reinstalled select either
<<File>> <<Open>> and the .pst folder that will append a new mailbox under the default one.
or <<File>> <<Import & Export>>
Select "From another programme or file" from the dialog
Select Personal Folder File (.pst) from next dialog

Before you reinstall I would look to make sure you have gotten rid of any spyware that may have been on there as well. That is if doing that is more time economical than the reinstall. Spyware is the number one thing I have to clean on any of the computers I work on.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
