1. You could measure the acceleration due to gravity using a pendulum, that's what I had to do for my A2 coursework. Then using the value that you get for 'g', you can expand the work, and calculate the mass of the earth.
2. Calculate the resistivity of different types of wire (That was my AS one).
3. Do some work on diffration gratings, investigating minima and maxima.

1. What is the "2006 A2 Practical Planning Exercise"?

The "2006 A2 Practical Planning Exercise" was a practical exercise for A2-level geography students in the United Kingdom, administered by the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA). It was designed to test students' knowledge and skills in planning, data analysis, and decision-making in a real-world context.

2. How was the "2006 A2 Practical Planning Exercise" structured?

The exercise consisted of a set of instructions and a data pack, which contained information about a real-life geographical issue. Students were required to use this data to answer a series of questions and make a decision or recommendation based on their findings. The exercise was typically completed within a set time limit, and students were allowed to use any resources or notes they had prepared beforehand.

3. What were the topics covered in the "2006 A2 Practical Planning Exercise"?

The exercise covered a range of topics related to human and physical geography, such as urbanization, climate change, and land use. The specific topic varied each year, but it always focused on a current and relevant issue that required students to apply their knowledge and skills in planning and decision-making.

4. How was the "2006 A2 Practical Planning Exercise" assessed?

The exercise was marked by AQA examiners based on predetermined assessment criteria. Students were evaluated on their ability to accurately interpret and analyze data, make informed decisions or recommendations, and use appropriate geographical terminology and techniques. The final mark was then used to contribute to the overall grade for the A2-level geography qualification.

5. Why was the "2006 A2 Practical Planning Exercise" discontinued?

In 2016, AQA announced that they would be discontinuing the practical planning exercise for A2-level geography due to changes in the curriculum and assessment methods.
