SUMMARY

The discussion highlights valuable resources for studying General Relativity (GR), specifically mentioning Ruslan Sharipov's website, which offers free access to books numbered 3, 4, and 6. Additionally, the Arxiv link provided (http://arxiv.org/abs/gr-qc/9712019) contains freely available GR materials. The user notes a distinction between these free notes and Sean Carroll's book "Spacetime and Geometry: An Introduction to General Relativity," indicating that the notes are significantly shorter. The original website geocities.com/r-sharipov is no longer active, and users are directed to alternative sites for GR resources.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of General Relativity concepts
  • Familiarity with academic resources and online repositories
  • Basic knowledge of physics and mathematics
  • Ability to navigate and utilize online educational platforms
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore Ruslan Sharipov's free GR books 3, 4, and 6
  • Review the Arxiv paper on General Relativity (http://arxiv.org/abs/gr-qc/9712019)
  • Study Sean Carroll's "Spacetime and Geometry: An Introduction to General Relativity"
  • Investigate additional free educational resources on GR from http://freetextbooks.narod.ru
USEFUL FOR

Students and educators in physics, particularly those focusing on General Relativity, as well as anyone seeking free educational materials in advanced theoretical physics.

I am currently taking a GR course and I am finding the following quite useful:

Ruslan Sharipov's Website has some GR relevant material, specifically books number 3,4, and 6. These books are free, as you will see is stated within the first few pages of the book.

Also, http://arxiv.org/abs/gr-qc/9712019" are freely available online too. Arxiv material is legitimately free. I am not sure if these notes are the same as Carroll's book Spacetime and Geometry: An Introduction to General Relativity, but I doubt it since the free notes are 231 pages long and the book is more than twice as long.

Enjoy.
