    Modeling Request
AI Thread Summary
A user seeks assistance in modeling a mechanical device in Autodesk Inventor, expressing their lack of engineering expertise despite being an artist. They estimate the modeling task would take a skilled engineer only a couple of hours, as it involves three unique parts and a total of eleven components. The user acknowledges the challenge of finding someone willing to do the work for free, given the high costs associated with mechanical CAD software and engineering services. They mention a timeframe of about a month for completion, emphasizing their financial constraints as a college student. A volunteer has offered to help with the modeling task.

I need a mechanical device modeled in Autodesk Inventor, but I just started teaching myself the program about a week ago, and I can see it's going to take a long time to become proficient at it. I'm an artist, not an engineer.

So I'm looking for a mechanical engineer that is skilled with this program who will altruistically model the device for me. I think it would be pretty easy (maybe take a couple hours, maybe less) for someone who actually knows what they're doing; it only has three unique parts, and two of them are simple shapes. Total part count is eleven.

If you're interested in helping me out, PM me and I'll give you the details and my email address to mail the part and assembly files to.

I'd like to help you out, but I just don't have the time.

Oh. Well, I'm not in a rush, if that makes it possible?

Ideally I'd like it in a month or so, but really beggars can't be choosers.

In the same boat as Vadar. Finding an engineer to do modelling for free won't be an easy task.

It's easy to find an engineering services company that will model anything you like, but you have to pay for it. Mechanical CAD software is very expensive- you can't expect someone to start their own company, purhcase said software for thousands of dollars, and then give away their labor on it for free...

I can't afford to. I'm a broke college student.

Someone volunteered though.

Thread 'Turbocharging carbureted petrol 2 stroke engines'
Hi everyone, online I ve seen some images about 2 stroke carbureted turbo (motorcycle derivation engine). Now.. In the past in this forum some members spoke about turbocharging 2 stroke but not in sufficient detail. The intake and the exhaust are open at the same time and there are no valves like a 4 stroke. But if you search online you can find carbureted 2stroke turbo sled or the Am6 turbo. The question is: Is really possible turbocharge a 2 stroke carburated(NOT EFI)petrol engine and...
I need some assistance with calculating hp requirements for moving a load. - The 4000lb load is resting on ball bearing rails so friction is effectively zero and will be covered by my added power contingencies. Load: 4000lbs Distance to travel: 10 meters. Time to Travel: 7.5 seconds Need to accelerate the load from a stop to a nominal speed then decelerate coming to a stop. My power delivery method will be a gearmotor driving a gear rack. - I suspect the pinion gear to be about 3-4in in...
Thread 'Calculate minimum RPM to self-balance a CMG on two legs'
Here is a photo of a rough drawing of my apparatus that I have built many times and works. I would like to have a formula to give me the RPM necessary for the gyroscope to balance itself on the two legs (screws). I asked Claude to give me a formula and it gave me the following: Let me calculate the required RPM foreffective stabilization. I'll use the principles of gyroscopicprecession and the moment of inertia. First, let's calculate the keyparameters: 1. Moment of inertia of...
