In summary, a book citation counter is a tool that tracks the number of times a book has been cited and identifies who has cited it. It uses a database and algorithms to gather this information. It is useful for researchers, scholars, and students to gauge the impact and influence of a book and find potential sources for further research. However, there may be limitations, such as missing books or incomplete citation data, and the accuracy of free online tools may vary.

If the book has been listed on ResearchGate, you will usually get this information as part of whatever aggregation process they do behind-the-scenes (assuming also that the citers/citees are in the same databases).
