Book Recommendations: Beyond Quantum Physics and Super Membranes

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around a desire for more reading material related to theoretical physics, particularly focusing on space, field, and time theories, while expressing frustration with topics like quantum physics and super membranes. The user enjoyed "A Brief History of Time" and "Parallel Worlds" by Michio Kaku but feels that recent literature heavily emphasizes complex theories such as string theory. There is a call for more specific recommendations that align with these interests, highlighting a perception that the existing knowledge in the field is extensive yet often veers into less appealing territory.

i'm hungry for more reading material, concerning theory or not, based on what we know.

i get frustrated with quantum physics and anything that expounds on super membranes and such.

i highly enjoyed A Brief History of Time and Parallel Worlds (Michio Kaku) even though it got into the aforementioned, but everything recently written seems to be about the aforementioned mostly.

any ideas?

hmmmmmmmmmmmm
"We know quite a lot" is rather relative. =)

i guess... I'm interested in space and field and time theories, up to the point where string theory gets involved...

TL;DR Summary: Book after Sakurai Modern Quantum Physics I am doing a comprehensive reading of sakurai and I have solved every problem from chapters I finished on my own, I will finish the book within 2 weeks and I want to delve into qft and other particle physics related topics, not from summaries but comprehensive books, I will start a graduate program related to cern in 3 months, I alreadily knew some qft but now I want to do it, hence do a good book with good problems in it first...
