Book suggestions on Galilean Transformations

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the need for comprehensive books on Galilean Transformations that provide concrete examples and exercises, rather than just theoretical explanations. The user expresses frustration with existing literature that lacks practical applications. They also reference their PhD thesis, titled "Newton-Cartan gravity revisited," which is available online but does not include additional exercises.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of classical mechanics principles
  • Familiarity with inertial reference frames
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical transformations
  • Experience with academic research and thesis writing
NEXT STEPS
  • Research books specifically focused on Galilean Transformations with practical examples
  • Explore resources on classical mechanics that include exercises
  • Investigate online courses or lectures that cover Galilean Transformations in detail
  • Review academic papers related to Newton-Cartan gravity for advanced insights
USEFUL FOR

Students, educators, and researchers in physics, particularly those focusing on classical mechanics and transformations in inertial systems.

Hi,
I'm looking for books with a really good explanation on Galilean Transformations. I find the books and/or sections where only the theory of how to convert from one to another inertial system is mentioned, but nothing with concrete examples and additional exercises.

Any suggestions are welcomed!
