SUMMARY

A new user from India in 12th grade can participate in both the Indian National Physics Olympiad (IPhO) and the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) in the same year. The first stage of the National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP) is scheduled for November 25, 2012, and the Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO) on December 2, 2012. The second stages, INPhO and INMO, occur on January 27, 2013, and February 3, 2013, respectively. However, if selected for the international rounds of both competitions, participation in both may not be permitted.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the Indian National Olympiad structure
  • Familiarity with the National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP)
  • Knowledge of the Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO)
  • Awareness of the timelines for IPhO and IMO
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the eligibility criteria for IPhO and IMO participation
  • Review the preparation materials for NSEP and RMO
  • Explore the selection process for international rounds of IPhO and IMO
  • Connect with previous participants for insights on managing both competitions
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for high school students in India preparing for the IPhO and IMO, educators guiding students in Olympiad preparations, and parents seeking information on their children's participation in these prestigious competitions.

Yes you can appear for both the exams. However if you get selected for the international level, I'm not sure you'll be allowed to appear for both.
