Can Small Hydropower and Synthetic Fuels Coexist in Mountainous Regions?

In summary, the coexistence of small hydropower and synthetic fuels in mountainous regions is possible and has the potential to provide sustainable and renewable energy sources. However, careful planning and consideration must be taken to ensure that both technologies are implemented in an environmentally responsible manner and do not compete for limited resources. Proper management and collaboration between stakeholders is crucial for the successful coexistence of these two energy sources.

Hello! I'm a mid-career electrical engineer going through a career transition into two widely different fields: synthetic fuels and small hydropower production. I live in a mountainous area with a decent amount of small hydropower resources that have yet to be developed, and I plan on using the generated energy to produce drop-in replacement carbon-neutral synthetic fuels for vehicles.
