In summary: Last name of a former quarterback that was a pro star in both Canada and the US together with the first (nick)name of a former college football...That would be Doug Flutie!

In this game, I make up cryptic clues that reveal the usernames of PF members. Other folks guess the names and provide the reasoning.

See Part I for examples and some solutions.

When I'm tired or worse, exhausted, I'll open the clue making to the rest of you.

Here's an example (courtesy Icvotria, for the clue and HMS for the solution): A yearly chant in the morning reflected

Answer: Yomamma

Reasoning:
Yearly = Y
Chant = Om
Morning = AM
Reflected (AM) = MA

Here we go!

This game is too hard, I quit.

Why don't you just mix up the letters order or something. :smile:

Yeah, why don't I?

Note: Some of the answers may be commonly used contractions of the complete usernames (eg: Greg, for Greg Berhardt).

6 ends on ss, whatever else it is :frown:

  • #6
I have no clue what #2 is saying, but I would think an obvious guess would be franznietzsche

That's the answer! Anyone got an explanation?

#4 rocketboy. Bottle Rocket as the firefwork, and the spoonerism comes in with the switching of the letters "bo" at the end of the username?

  • #10
2. disenfranchize, without Che inside

franchize - che = franize

#1 is Ivan?

Good guess, but that's not what I had in mind.

Hmm..Russ??

That's much closer, but not completely right, as you can see.

#1 is Ivan?
Ha ha, no.

1. Could also be Tsu, since she "includes" on occasion a fancy russian? :confused:

Of course it is! I'd like to see his reaction to this though. :biggrin:

In short, are you Schutzstaffel?

In short => abbreviate or contract

are = R
you = U
Schutzstaffel = SS

Even if it's obvious, please include the reasoning henceforth.

I got one

Nope, try again. Cyrus was pretty close, but didn't go all the way with the logic.

No it's not, gutterbrain!

  • #19
wait... :smile:

#4: Larkspur? The firework being Sparkler, and the spoonerized part being the reversal, but somewhat off.

No, wollie, it doesn't.

You're making a small mistake with the letters. Do it again - carefully, this time.

Also, in general, I rarely use words superfluously in the clues. Every word will likely have a role.

2. disenfranchize, without Che inside

You clever A-hole.

Inside - disen******i**

che

disenfranchize- disen******i**-che = franz

1. fancy Russian included

Rach3?

1. fanCy RUSsian included

Is it me?

  • #31
I thought of Dimitry Terr(yn) since he is sort of cute and (yn=in), but I don't think I am right with that.
Besides, I won't suggest this, because then I will be called a gutterbrain again.:frown:

Yes it is, cyrus.

'Included' indicates that the answer is directly embedded or hidden in the rest of the clue.
