SUMMARY

The non-abelian Chern-Simons theory is indeed related to topologically massive Yang-Mills theory, as it incorporates a Yang-Mills term alongside the Chern-Simons term. This relationship is explicitly defined in the equation (4.1) referenced in the discussion. Understanding this connection is crucial for grasping the implications of both theories in theoretical physics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Chern-Simons theory fundamentals
  • Non-abelian gauge theories
  • Yang-Mills theory principles
  • Mathematical formulation of topological field theories
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the mathematical derivation of Chern-Simons theory
  • Explore the implications of non-abelian gauge theories in physics
  • Investigate the role of topologically massive Yang-Mills theory in quantum field theory
  • Review advanced topics in topological field theories
USEFUL FOR

Theoretical physicists, graduate students in physics, and researchers focusing on gauge theories and topological field theories will benefit from this discussion.

Dear All
I am studying Chern Simons theory. Is the non abelian Chern Simons theory the same as topologically massive yang mills theory?
Thank yoou

By definition it's the sum of Chern-Simons with a Yang-Mills terms, see equation (4.1) here.

"Supernovae evidence for foundational change to cosmological models" https://arxiv.org/pdf/2412.15143 The paper claims: We compare the standard homogeneous cosmological model, i.e., spatially flat ΛCDM, and the timescape cosmology which invokes backreaction of inhomogeneities. Timescape, while statistically homogeneous and isotropic, departs from average Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker evolution, and replaces dark energy by kinetic gravitational energy and its gradients, in explaining...
