SUMMARY

The discussion centers around obtaining a SolidWorks sketch of the Clark Y-14 airfoil for COSMOS analysis. Users inquire whether the Clark Y-14 airfoil is derived from modifying the original Clark Y airfoil's thickness or if specific X and Y coordinate data is available. A suggestion is made to utilize Javafoil, a tool that provides XY coordinate data for airfoils, as a potential resource for this information.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks for CAD modeling
  • Understanding of COSMOS analysis for structural simulations
  • Knowledge of airfoil design principles
  • Experience with Javafoil for obtaining airfoil coordinates
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to create airfoil sketches in SolidWorks
  • Explore COSMOS analysis techniques for airfoil performance evaluation
  • Learn to extract and interpret XY coordinate data using Javafoil
  • Investigate modifications to airfoil thickness and their aerodynamic effects
USEFUL FOR

Aerospace engineers, mechanical engineers, students conducting aerodynamic studies, and anyone involved in airfoil design and analysis.

Does anyone have a solidworks sketch of this airfoil? I would like to use it for a COSMOS analysis for a lab I am doing.

Thanks!

i hava a basic problem ,

Does the clark Y-14 airfoil come from directly modify the thickness of the original clark y airfoil?
or if not, could anyone give me the x and y coordinate data of this foil?

thanks
