the following paper

The paper "Quantum Gravity coupled to Matter via Noncommutative Geometry" was published in the journal Classical and Quantum Gravity in March 2011 (Volume 28, Number 7, article 075014). [1]

Is published in a peer reviewed journal,

the authors have published a variety of papers combining loop quantum gravity with noncommutative geomtry.

since Alain Connes shows that combining spectral triple over standard general relativity gives you the standard model, but it's not quantized.

so wouldn't combining loop quantum gravity with noncommutative geomtry give you 4D background independent quantum gravity with the standard model?

should this approach be researched more intensely since it is done in 4 dimensions and without supersymmetry?

The paper you reference was published in 2011. What has happened with this line of research since then?

According to Google Scholar, in the last 15 years this article has been cited only twelve times. And of those dozen, seven are self-references by the original authors, meaning their paper has been cited by outside-researchers just five times. It's clear that the cited paper has negligibly influenced experts in the fields of elementary particles and quantum gravity.

string theory gets 200x the funding from the NSF as loop quantum gravity.

even so, what about the idea of merging loop quantum gravity with Alaine Connes non commutative geometry as a research program, as a way to get the standard model into loop quantum gravity

What are the chances that someone who reads Physics Forums can expertly address this question? Why don't you ask the authors of the 12 papers that cited your original reference? They all list their email addresses.
