AI Thread Summary
The 'CONTACT' page is experiencing login issues across multiple browsers and operating systems, including Windows 10 and MacOS 14. Users report encountering a security error when attempting to log in, preventing access to the contact form despite entering the required information. The problem persists even after multiple attempts over weeks, indicating it is not a temporary server issue. Additionally, users are unable to verify their identity due to a repetitive verification process. A manual email option is suggested as a workaround for contacting support.

I have tried on different machines and browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari); the latest upgrade of Windows 10, as well as up-to-date MacOS 14.

When clicking the 'CONTACT' button in the footer bar, I do not seem to be logged in on that page. Trying to click 'LOG IN' in the header bar on that page gives the following error:

"Oops! We ran into some problems. Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again."

Additionally, regardless of the content entered into the 4 required fields ('Your name', 'Your email address', 'Subject', and 'Message'), the above error appears.

I have attempted this multiple times, with weeks in between attempts, and at different times of day, so I don't think it is just a laggy server issue.

Verify you are human by completing the action below.

www.physicsforums.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding.

That blank line in the middle starts as: "Verifying you are human" "CLOUDFLAIR"

Then transitions to:
a checkbox labeled "Verify you are human"

Clicking in the box enters a Check Mark in it; then the process repeats ad nauseam.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
This came up in my job today (UXP). Never thought to raise it here on PF till now. Hyperlinks really should be underlined at all times. PF only underlines them when they are rolled over. Colour alone (especially dark blue/purple) makes it difficult to spot a hyperlink in a large block of text (or even a small one). Not everyone can see perfectly. Even if they don't suffer from colour deficiency, not everyone has the visual acuity to distinguish two very close shades of text. Hover actions...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
