SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on creating a cobweb diagram in MATLAB, specifically addressing issues encountered when the output consists of two straight lines instead of the expected cobweb structure. The user is utilizing MATLAB's plotting functions but is unsure about the correct implementation of the initial value and the parameter 'r'. The conversation emphasizes the importance of sharing the relevant m-files for effective troubleshooting and assistance.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with MATLAB programming and syntax
  • Understanding of cobweb diagrams and their mathematical foundations
  • Experience with MATLAB plotting functions
  • Knowledge of dynamic systems and iterative functions
NEXT STEPS
  • Review MATLAB's documentation on plotting functions
  • Study examples of cobweb diagrams in MATLAB
  • Learn about iterative functions and their graphical representations
  • Explore debugging techniques for MATLAB scripts
USEFUL FOR

Mathematics educators, students learning dynamic systems, and MATLAB users interested in visualizing iterative processes.

I am trying to create a cobweb diagram in matlab. However, I am not sure what I am doing wrong. When I enter the function in with its initial value and r value...my diagram comes up with 2 straight lines and not a cobweb. I am stuck.

Attached are the m.files

I think people will be more willing to help you if you just post the text from both of the program
