SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the role of electric currents in the universe, challenging the prevailing notion that gravitation is the dominant force due to the universe's large-scale electrical neutrality. Participants argue that while the statistical effects of these currents may appear negligible, they warrant further investigation. The conversation references stringent limits established by astronomers to debunk theories associated with the electric universe hypothesis, indicating a need for more rigorous exploration of this topic.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of gravitational forces in astrophysics
  • Familiarity with the concept of electrical neutrality in cosmology
  • Knowledge of the electric universe theory and its criticisms
  • Basic principles of astrophysical currents and their potential effects
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the implications of electric currents in astrophysics
  • Examine the criticisms of the electric universe theory
  • Explore the methodologies used by astronomers to measure cosmic currents
  • Investigate the historical context of gravitational dominance in cosmological models
USEFUL FOR

Astronomers, physicists, and students of cosmology interested in the interplay between gravitational and electrical forces in the universe.

It is usually said that gravitation is the dominant "force" on large scale,
because Universe is electrically neutral on large scale.
But what about currents?
Maybe effects of currents are disappearing statistically,
but I think that this is not trivial.
What is the truth?

I think some pretty stringent limits have been placed on this sort of thing, by astronomers who were debunking of the electric universe kooks. I can't remember the details, but you can find it by googling.
