Degenerate Matter energy level

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

Degenerate matter is defined as highly compressed matter that exists at high energy levels. The discussion highlights the paradox of increasing energy in degenerate matter when spatial constraints limit particle existence in higher energy states. The conversation also notes a logistical issue regarding the placement of the thread within the forum.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of quantum mechanics
  • Familiarity with the concept of energy states
  • Knowledge of particle physics
  • Basic principles of astrophysics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the properties of degenerate matter in astrophysical contexts
  • Explore the implications of energy levels in quantum systems
  • Study the role of particle interactions in high-density environments
  • Investigate the effects of compression on matter in stellar evolution
USEFUL FOR

Astronomers, physicists, and students of advanced science who are interested in the properties and behaviors of matter under extreme conditions.

From what I understand, degenerate matter is highly compressed matter with high energy, but how can you increase its energy if there is no more room for particles to exist in for a higher energy state?

Also I noticed this is not in the section I thought I put it in.
