SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the feasibility of deoxidizing iron within Kyanite crystals that contain iron inclusions. Participants clarify that the term "deoxidize" likely refers to reduction processes. The consensus leans towards the conclusion that achieving deoxidization of iron in such a crystalline structure is improbable, regardless of the methods considered.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of reduction chemistry
  • Familiarity with mineralogy, specifically Kyanite properties
  • Knowledge of iron oxidation states
  • Basic concepts of crystallography
NEXT STEPS
  • Research reduction techniques applicable to iron compounds
  • Explore the properties and formation of Kyanite crystals
  • Study the oxidation states of iron in mineral inclusions
  • Investigate crystallography methods for analyzing mineral structures
USEFUL FOR

Geologists, mineralogists, and chemists interested in the reduction processes of iron within crystalline structures, particularly those studying Kyanite and similar minerals.

Hello,

I was wondering if we can deoxidize Iron inside a crystal like Kyanite (Natural form), which contains Fe inclusions (sometimes rusty)...

Thanks in advance.

Deoxidize... you probably mean reduction. Please elaborate on what you want to do, it is not clear.

Probably impossible no matter what you are thinking of.
