Yeah has anyone heard the announcement that when direct X 10.1 comes out at the beginning of 2008 all previous Direct X 10 hardware will become obsolete! wasted. anyone have opinions about that?

I'm not sure if I would really use the term obsolete. DX10 hardware will still be able to use the DX10 features which are supported within DX10.1. The 10.1 release will mainly be support for future hardware. There's not a lot of developers out there really pushing DX10 support as it is so, it'll be quite some time before we see any games that will utilize 10.1 features. I say give it two years (one year at least) before it really needs to be taken into consideration.
