SUMMARY

Distance learning in engineering typically requires a combination of online classes and in-person attendance at seminars and educational events. While some theoretical subjects like Mathematics can be studied entirely online, practical fields such as Physics and Engineering necessitate residential schools for hands-on experiments and field trips. The discussion highlights the importance of these in-person components for a comprehensive educational experience in technical disciplines.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of distance learning methodologies
  • Familiarity with engineering and physics curricula
  • Knowledge of online educational platforms
  • Awareness of residential school requirements in technical programs
NEXT STEPS
  • Research accredited distance learning engineering programs
  • Explore the role of residential schools in technical education
  • Investigate online platforms for distance learning in Physics
  • Learn about hybrid learning models in higher education
USEFUL FOR

Students considering distance education in engineering, educators developing online curricula, and academic advisors guiding prospective learners in technical fields.

Can I have a engineering graduation without leaving my house? How it works?

Physics news on Phys.org
No, likely not. Generally there would be classes online, but you'd be expected to attend seminars, "class" educational "events", possibly even a final, things like that. And I'm not sure how many undergraduate distance learning programs there are; though I guess I suspect there are a few.

You really should do a distance learning course with some residential schools, where you get to do experiments/ field trips. Its only proper for a course like Physics or Engineering. Maths, you could do at home, no problem. I did my Physics degree by distance and I regularly went to residential schools for experiments. It wouldn't haven't been a good programme to do otherwise.
