AI Thread Summary
Unstressed syllables in English may exhibit creaky voice characteristics, which are associated with lower pitch and reduced amplitude. The production of creaky voice involves a smaller gap between the vocal cords, potentially indicating a narrowing of the glottis. Understanding these vocal cord adjustments is crucial for developing speech synthesizers aimed at facilitating English language learning. The relationship between vocal cord narrowing and lower pitch sounds is a key consideration in this context.

Does unstress syllable in English have creaky-voiced?To low in pitch and small in amplitude of the sound, the gap between vocal cords must be small. Is that correct?I do not know whether we narrowed the vocal cord(glottis) or not in unstress syllable in English?

Relative amplitude. I suppose "creaky voice" could be a side effect in some people.

Are you building a speech synthesizer ?

Historian seeks recognition for first English king https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9d07w50e15o Somewhere I have a list of Anglo-Saxon, Wessex and English kings. Well there is nothing new there. Parts of Britain experienced tribal rivalries/conflicts as well as invasions by the Romans, Vikings/Norsemen, Angles, Saxons and Jutes, then Normans, and various monarchs/emperors declared war on other monarchs/emperors. Seems that behavior has not ceased.
