Difficulty recalling names of acquaintances and friends is a common experience that many find embarrassing, particularly in social settings like school, college, or the workplace. Participants in the discussion shared personal anecdotes about their struggles with name recall, often attributing it to inherited traits or learned behaviors from family members. Various strategies were suggested to improve memory, such as repeating names during introductions or associating names with vivid imagery. Some participants noted that stress and sleep deprivation can exacerbate memory issues, while others humorously recounted their own experiences of confusing names, even calling family members by the wrong names. The conversation highlighted a shared understanding of the challenges of name recall, with many expressing relief in knowing they are not alone in this struggle.

I forgot the kids names from time to time. No matter, they never came when I called them anyway.

That's what I'm sayin'. I'm too lazy to hunt the study up, but I'm sure you'll find it if you're interested. It gained some notariety.

I love that one. We had a Bill Cosby album when I was a kid (early '70's), a 33 1/3. It had the Chicken Heart on it and a bunch of others I forget now. Absolutely the funniest stuff I've ever heard.
