Does a pushed object accelerate on a frictionless table?

Obviously the question isn't easy to me, but anyway onwards with the question.

Can I assume an object has no acceleration if it is pushed on a frictionless tabletop?

This isn't a homework problem, its just going to help me solve my homework problem.

While you push it, it accelerates.

Immediately you stop pushing, it stops accelerating. :wink:
 
oops i meant constant acceleration instead of no acceleration, sorry.
 
If it is pushed with constant force (which is actually fairly difficult to achieve), then yes it will have constant acceleration. :smile:
