AI Thread Summary
Hagoromo Fulltouch chalk, known as "dream chalk," has gained popularity among heavy chalk users since its introduction in the US in 2012, despite its merits being recognized earlier. A user is seeking a humorous promotional poster featuring quotes like "proofs write themselves" to promote this chalk in their math department. The chalk is praised for its exceptional quality, making mistakes nearly impossible. However, it is noted that Hagoromo Bungo has gone out of business, leading to the discontinuation of Fulltouch chalk production. The discussion raises questions about whether the decline of chalk products is linked to the rise of whiteboards.

I have recently purchased a box of Hagoromo Fulltouch chalk, the so called "dream chalk". It has only been available for purchase in the US since spring 2012, but its merits have been known for longer. So heads up, heavy chalk users :)

I'm posting because I am looking for a picture I thought I saw once that was "advertising" this chalk. It was a comical poster, with quotes like "proofs write themselves" and silly things like that. I saw this on the internet once somewhere. Has anyone else seen it? I would like to find the picture and print it out to "advertise" this chalk in my math department.

Hagoromo Fulltouch is the best! I've smuggled some back from Japan in the past.

Wish I could help you on the poster.

What makes this chalk so special?

I am sad to report that Hagoromo Bungo has gone out of business. There is no more Fulltouch chalk being manufactured.

Did whiteboards kill them?

Just ONCE, I wanted to see a post titled Status Update that was not a blatant, annoying spam post by a new member. So here it is. Today was a good day here in Northern Wisconsin. Fall colors are here, no mosquitos, no deer flies, and mild temperature, so my morning run was unusually nice. Only two meetings today, and both went well. The deer that was road killed just down the road two weeks ago is now fully decomposed, so no more smell. Somebody has a spike buck skull for their...
