so I am starting to work on research in electronic masking... What applications of this topic could I draw a hypothesis from? I'm having trouble finding a potential hypothesis/thesis topic. Thanks!

Electronic masking of what? RF? Carrier current? You need to be more specific. I also am wondering why/how you are starting research on a topic when you don't have any apparent reason to do so.
