A user shared their experience of accidentally losing their big toenail after hitting it against a ladder, resulting in a doctor's visit where the nail was confirmed to have come off cleanly. The doctor advised that the toenail would eventually grow back and recommended applying Neosporin and keeping it bandaged. The user reported minimal pain and described the healing process, including changing the bandage and the appearance of the toe. Other participants shared similar experiences with toenail injuries and offered advice on care. The discussion highlighted the surprising resilience of toenails and the healing process following such injuries.
