Thanks for the nominations! But I think being retired staff disqualifies me.

I hear the volcano god's stomach growling again... "FEEED me, Seymour!"

Nope, retired staff are qualified.

OK, then I want back on staff. I eat a lot of beans and I'm highly combustible. I wouldn't survive the volcano.

But what about the explosion and fire? The Humanity! Oh, the Humanity!

Is MIH returning to the patrol of the philosophy forum?

YES! It's too late, it's in writing, she wants to return. She wants the Philosophy forum back.

Make her take it, please.

Can I nominate her for the Kim Basinger doppelganger guru? She belongs in psychology, not philosophy, and I am concerned about her flammability. I'm sure that she has a subtle TX accent that is to die for...

Yes! Yes! He is by far the funniest member. However much of his humor is very subtle and requires some knowledge of math to understand or even detect.

How about giving the winner the Marvin award/trophy?

That's the plan.

I think I'm the funniest member. I didn't know I couldn't win twice. Then can I have a "former funniest member" Recognition?

You're immortalised in the library.

I vote for MIH, the beans joke just about clinched it.

I haven't looked all the way through, but see some good suggestions have been made, but have Lisab and mgb phys been nominated too (for being amusing, not for volcano fodder)?

Good to see you again. Wolram, Any funny stories about the wedding to compete with?

I vote tribdog for recently getting banned. Was he? Well he got his own thread locked due to a single uncharacteristic final post of going on a rant of bashing Australians , which was deleted. " Uncharacteristic " because up until then he had made rather benign comments -possibly directed toward the moderators about how the thread was intended to speak well of the French and how the Polish were so awesome and then there was a sudden ( his final ) post where he just switched characters and went on a manic rant bashing the Australians in a way which no American has ever done before.

Alterior motives - a plan of his all along perhaps? Possibly. I knew that post was doomed and sure enough I found it deleted and the thread locked about 5 minutes after reading his final post. The thread was going smoothly and then it absolutely self destructed ... with all due respect to tribdog.

A person has to be known for being funny. A couple of funny posts don't qualify. We need consistency. This is for GURU.

I think we've killed off most of our funny people already.

I think Borek would make a good sacrifice. I mean, look at his avatar. He's just begging to be thrown into a volcano.

From the volcano point of view I am better as a toothpick than the snack. I am skinny, so instead of frying nice I will just turn charred.

I agree with the LisaB nomination, any way i think the guru award should go to a female, they are funny beast's without even trying.
