I haven't looked all the way through, but see some good suggestions have been made, but have Lisab and mgb phys been nominated too (for being amusing, not for volcano fodder)?

I vote tribdog for recently getting banned. Was he? Well he got his own thread locked due to a single uncharacteristic final post of going on a rant of bashing Australians , which was deleted. " Uncharacteristic " because up until then he had made rather benign comments -possibly directed toward the moderators about how the thread was intended to speak well of the French and how the Polish were so awesome and then there was a sudden ( his final ) post where he just switched characters and went on a manic rant bashing the Australians in a way which no American has ever done before.

Alterior motives - a plan of his all along perhaps? Possibly. I knew that post was doomed and sure enough I found it deleted and the thread locked about 5 minutes after reading his final post. The thread was going smoothly and then it absolutely self destructed ... with all due respect to tribdog.

A person has to be known for being funny. A couple of funny posts don't qualify. We need consistency. This is for GURU.

I think we've killed off most of our funny people already.

I think Borek would make a good sacrifice. I mean, look at his avatar. He's just begging to be thrown into a volcano.

From the volcano point of view I am better as a toothpick than the snack. I am skinny, so instead of frying nice I will just turn charred.

The first person to come up with a joke about a tax inspector, taxi driver or rat catcher will get my vote.

  • #69
So a tax inspector and a taxi driver walk into a bar... the rat catcher ducked!

  • #70
This taxi driver stops to pick up a passenger and in climbs a rat.
"Take me to the IRS please."
So the taxi driver drives the rat to the IRS.
"Wait here," says the rat.
About five minutes later the rat comes walking out and climbs back into the cab.
"How'd it go?" asked the taxi driver.
"I only had to give the collector 20% of my cheese." said the rat.
"That's good!" says the taxi driver.
"No, gouda." says the rat.

Hi wolram!

Is this a frictionless taxi driver?

I can't see the picture yet, but I'll assume the tax inspector and the rat catcher are joined by a massless inextensible rope, and that the taxi driver is called Schrodinger.

Hint:

i] no normal force has ever been measured on a tax inspector

ii] tax always flows from a hotter bolder to a colder body

iii] taxi drivers go along all possible paths

iv] the rat catcher will not leave the roller coaster until the tax inspector collects the death duties on Schrodinger's rat!

For this approximation, assume that the taxi driver is spherical.

Am I allowed to nominate myself (most of my attempts at humour are in little-read homework threads)?

This is my porthttps://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=240942" :blushing:

 The problem about the Nation of Whynot was hilarious from the start, and your answer was priceless!
