Homework Statement

A golfer, driving a golf ball off the tee, gives the ball a velocity of +33 m/s. The mass of the ball is 0.045 kg, and the duration of the impact with the golf club is 4.45 10-3 s.

(a) What is the change in momentum of the ball?
kgm/s

(b) Determine the average force applied to the ball by the club.
N

thank you, this is the second problem I am stuck on...any help is appreciated.

An 85 kg jogger is heading due east at a speed of 2.2 m/s. A 55 kg jogger is heading 34° north of east at a speed of 2.8 m/s. Find the magnitude and direction of the sum of momenta of the two joggers.

Where are you stuck? Find the components of each jogger's momentum and add them up.
