Good physics research for a high schooler

I am a high schooler who is interested in physics and wants to do a research project over the course of the next year. In particular, I think it would be cool to write a computer simulation of something, build it in real life, and compare the results, but I am open to other suggestions.

Does anyone have any ideas for potential research projects? Thanks!
