AI Thread Summary
Changing a general BSc in Physics and Mathematics to an honors degree in Geophysics or Materials Engineering is possible, but it depends on several factors, including location, current academic status, and institutional policies. It is recommended to conduct a Google search for relevant programs in your area, considering financial constraints and the transferability of existing credits. Additionally, contacting the administration at your current institution for guidance on the process and requirements is advisable. The individual inquiring is based in Sudan and currently works as a materials inspector in Saudi Arabia, which may influence their options for specialization change.

Can I change my general degree Bsc in physics & mathematics to honor degree in geophysics or material engineering.if yes.where can i do it?? Thank you

It's hard to say without knowing the details of location, current status, and constraints.

You might start with a simple Google search identifying geophysics and materials engineering programs within your geographical constraints, and then look into the financial constraints and transferrability of your current credits.

Why would you expect people on an Internet forum to know this, since you gave NO details at all (e.g. what school? What country?) ?

Why do you not just ask the administration at your school?

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
