Yep. I'm an underclassman in high school. I'm good with chemistry and other sciences, but the conceptual stuff is not my thing. So yeah.

I was intrigued so I checked:

idiot (n) Middle English (denoting a person of low intelligence): via Old French from Latin

... i.e. the definition of an idiot is someone who does not know they are an idiot.
