How Can I Implement Automatic Climate Control for My Master's Thesis?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on implementing automatic climate control for a master's thesis, specifically using PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) loops. The user initially explored a MATLAB solution but found it inadequate for their specifications. They seek equations and guidance related to air conditioning and heating systems to refine their project. The PID loop is identified as a fundamental concept for closed-loop environmental control systems.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of PID control theory
  • Familiarity with MATLAB for simulation
  • Knowledge of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems
  • Basic mathematical skills for control system equations
NEXT STEPS
  • Research advanced PID tuning techniques
  • Explore MATLAB Simulink for climate control simulations
  • Study HVAC system design principles
  • Investigate alternative control algorithms beyond PID
USEFUL FOR

Students in engineering or environmental science, researchers developing climate control systems, and professionals in HVAC design and automation.

Hi all

Iam doing my master's degree. I want help regarding implementing Automatic climate control. I found one in MATLAB but it doesn't meet my specifications. Can anyone help giving me any idea or providing equations regarding AirConditioner and Heater.

The general concept involved is the PID Loop:

That is the math behind closed loop control of things like environmental controls. Hope that helps to get you started.
