Hello, can anyone explain me how optical system of a structured light 3d scanner like this one works? I tried to google it, but still didn't understand how it get's Z coordinate.
The optical system of a structured light 3D scanner operates by projecting a series of light patterns onto the object being scanned. The deformation of these patterns, captured by cameras, allows for the calculation of the Z coordinate through triangulation. This method enables precise depth measurement and creates a detailed 3D representation of the scanned object. Tools like the Artec 3D scanner utilize this technology to enhance scanning accuracy and efficiency.
PREREQUISITESEngineers, 3D scanning professionals, and anyone interested in understanding the mechanics behind structured light 3D scanning technology.
