How Useful is the Online Oscilloscope Simulation?

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the usefulness of an online oscilloscope simulation tool for AC and DC circuit analysis. Participants share links to the tool and examples, while providing feedback on its functionality and design.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant shares a link to a virtual lab with an oscilloscope tool and requests feedback on its utility.
  • Another participant expresses enjoyment of the simulation, particularly noting the behavior of diodes in circuits.
  • A participant clarifies that the original source code of the simulation was written in Java and mentions their own adaptation for a Flash-based user interface.
  • A further example of the oscilloscope's application is provided through another link to a working example featuring two oscilloscopes.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally express positive feedback about the simulation, but there is no consensus on its overall usefulness or effectiveness, as the discussion remains exploratory.

Contextual Notes

Some limitations may include the reliance on Flash Player for the user interface and the varying experiences of participants with the tool's performance.

Hello,

I like to share with you a virtual lab with Oscilloscope tool.
Here you go:
http://www.dcaclab.com/en/lab/

and here is an example:

its an online tool for AC DC simulation, I would like to hear your feedback!

Regards,

Neat so far, just playing with some basic circuits. I especially like how the diodes cause you to lose power half the time, good work!

Is this Java?

the original source code is written in Java by Paul Falstad http://www.falstad.com/circuit/" , I re-wrote it to power my swf-based UI, which runs in Flash Player, with more realistic artwork of components& meters ..
