High School Is Information the Key to Unifying Quantum Mechanics and Space?

Click For Summary
The discussion centers on the role of information in the unification of quantum mechanics and space. While some formulations of quantum mechanics consider information as a fundamental element, there are no mainstream efforts to utilize this concept for unifying forces. Sean Carroll's blog post is referenced as a relevant source that explores the relationship between space and quantum mechanics. The conversation highlights the need for further exploration of information's role in theoretical physics. Ultimately, the potential of information as a unifying principle remains an open question in the field.

What unification programme has information as the primitive that is accepted in the mainstream?

Some formulations of quantum mechanics have information as the primitive, but I don't think that there are attempts to use this for unification of forces.

"Supernovae evidence for foundational change to cosmological models" https://arxiv.org/pdf/2412.15143 The paper claims: We compare the standard homogeneous cosmological model, i.e., spatially flat ΛCDM, and the timescape cosmology which invokes backreaction of inhomogeneities. Timescape, while statistically homogeneous and isotropic, departs from average Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker evolution, and replaces dark energy by kinetic gravitational energy and its gradients, in explaining...
