Injection moulding involves precise timing for mould opening and closing, which significantly impacts the quality of the finished part. Longer opening times can lead to defects such as warping or incomplete filling, while too short a time may not allow for proper cooling. The balance of these times is crucial for achieving optimal dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Additionally, the cycle time can affect production efficiency and costs. Understanding these factors is essential for successful injection moulding processes.

Short version is that I'm doing some heavy forming on a piece of 5052-H32 and I'm running into issues with it work hardening. I've tried the Sharpie trick with a propane torch. But I'm not sure this is doing anything. I'm also seeing conflicting opinions whether to quench or air cool. So I'm looking for some expert opinions. (Oven heating is not an option due to size.)
