Hi Guys!

Just a quick question on how I should properly write my statements for problems regarding instantaneous speed.

I understand that instantaneous speed is the magnitude of the instantaneous velocity (i.e. there is no direction associated with it). In this case, when finding the instantaneous speed, is it okay to write the statement as:

Instantaneous speed,
|v| = |dx/dt|

Is it okay to write it in this form or is there something better that you guys would recommend?

Thank you in advance guys!
