Internship possibilities: Plasma physics

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

This discussion centers on internship opportunities in plasma physics for a third-year physics student interested in fusion research. The student seeks internships primarily in the Netherlands or central Europe. Participants recommend checking the American Physical Society (APS) website for reciprocal societies that list internship opportunities and suggest exploring CERN's website for potential positions. These resources provide a solid starting point for finding relevant internships in the field of plasma physics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of plasma physics concepts
  • Familiarity with fusion research principles
  • Knowledge of internship application processes
  • Awareness of international physics associations and their resources
NEXT STEPS
  • Research internship listings on the American Physical Society (APS) website
  • Explore CERN's internship opportunities in physics
  • Investigate reciprocal societies listed on the APS website for additional internship options
  • Network with professionals in plasma physics through academic conferences or online forums
USEFUL FOR

Physics students, particularly those specializing in plasma physics or fusion research, and anyone seeking internship opportunities in the field of physics across Europe.

Hi guys. I'm a third year physics student. Next year I'll be in my final year. I'm interested in studying fusion in the future. Unfortunately I have not done plasma physics as part of my degree so I don't know much about it yet. However I'd like to do an internship abroad this summer. Ideally I would love to work in Netherlands cause it's a beautiful country, but I wouldn't mind other places in Europe (preferably central Europe though). Do you know of any good places in Netherlands (or other countries) that offer good internship positions in plasma physics. Thank you in advance.

Isn’t there a physics association website similar to the American Physical Society aka aps.org that you could check.

or perhaps CERNs website may have some internships.

APS lists these reciprocal societies around the world so check their websites for internships while awaiting others from PF to respond.

Thank you. I will look into it.
