Is Particle Physics the Right Path for Me?

How did you find PF?
I found this website via Google search.
Hello,
I'm Bertram and I'm in my last year of school and I would like to study physics, I really like particle physics from what I know.
I'm here to connect to other scientists or students, but also to learn more about the subject, common problems and the way of precise articulating.
Have a nice day, Bertram

Welcome to this forum.
The nice thing about physics is that it forms a very coherent collection of knowledge. This means that specalizations do not require vastly different skillsets. So learning well any particular aspect will allow you to be conversant in them all and changing specializations for a good practitioner of the art is not that painfull. So learn as much as possible and as broadly as possible at the start. This is easiest if you are having fun. And always learn more math than is necessary.

Welcome to PF.

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
