SUMMARY

Nima Arkani-Hamed's discussions on the nature of space-time emphasize the necessity of moving beyond traditional concepts of space and time in physics. His statements suggest a philosophical inquiry into whether physics can exist without these foundational notions. The specific phrases "End of Spacetime" and "Doom of Spacetime" are associated with his talks, indicating a potential gap in published literature on his views. This inquiry reflects a broader debate within theoretical physics regarding the fundamental structure of reality.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of theoretical physics concepts
  • Familiarity with Nima Arkani-Hamed's work and contributions
  • Knowledge of contemporary discussions on space-time in physics
  • Awareness of philosophical implications in scientific theories
NEXT STEPS
  • Research Nima Arkani-Hamed's "End of Spacetime" lectures for deeper insights
  • Explore recent papers on quantum gravity and space-time theories
  • Investigate philosophical critiques of space-time in modern physics
  • Study the implications of abandoning traditional space-time notions in physics
USEFUL FOR

Theoretical physicists, philosophers of science, and students interested in advanced concepts of space-time and the implications of Arkani-Hamed's theories.

I'm looking for a citation from Nima Arkani-Hamed about the nature of space-time that stated more or less the following and despite searching can't find again. It was something sort of "we must get rid of the notion of space and time in physics but, since physics itself was always at bottom a theory which rest of the notion of space and time in the first place, one wanders if then we are doing physics at all?" Can someone help me? Thanks in advance.

Isn't it any more than Nima Arkani-Hamed's "End of Spacetime"/"Doom of Spacetime" talks? i.e.
He may just have not written up his ideas in a paper.
