Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the search for specific chart paper (Westronics CT014650-00) needed for the control room of a TRIGA MKI reactor. Participants explore potential sources and alternatives while acknowledging the transition to digital systems is in progress but not yet complete.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses urgency in finding 11" Westronics chart paper due to limited supply.
  • Another suggests contacting other sites with similar equipment as a potential solution, particularly those that have transitioned to digital.
  • A participant reflects on the age of the TRIGA MKI reactor, indicating a personal connection to its history.
  • One participant notes the difficulty in sourcing the chart paper and mentions the possibility of small-scale manufacturing as an alternative solution.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not appear to reach a consensus on the availability of the chart paper, with multiple suggestions and approaches being discussed without resolution.

Contextual Notes

The discussion highlights the challenges in sourcing specific materials for older reactor systems and the ongoing transition to digital solutions, which may impact the urgency and methods of obtaining necessary supplies.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals involved in the operation or maintenance of TRIGA reactors, those interested in sourcing specialized materials for older equipment, and participants in discussions about transitioning from analog to digital systems in technical environments.

I have been searching for some 11" Westronics chart paper CT014650-00 as the supply for the control room is apparently down to the last two rolls (will last until about February sometime). A switch to digital is in the works, but will take some time.

Any help/leads would be appreciated!

To contact other sites with similar equipment often helps (especially if they already switched to digital).

Seems to be harder than expected to find this paper, looks like we are going into small scale manufacturing. Should be interesting.

Thanks for the suggestions.
